Overview:  The Director of Programs is a highly relational role that involves both hands-on participation in program planning, project coordination, and intern support, as well as high-level consideration of how to help the organization grow in size, strength, and effectiveness.  The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a heart for ministry, a talent for building relationships, flexibility to adapt to the fluid nature of ministry needs, and a commitment to personal and professional growth.

Requirements  

Bachelor’s degree (equivalent experience considered)

General knowledge of Biblical studies

A heart for ministry and a passion for fostering community relationships

Ability to mentor and support young adults, particularly in a ministry context

Comfortable with hands-on physical tasks

Organizational Skills to effectively balance diverse responsibilities

Technical aptitude for managing tools, equipment, vehicles, and audiovisual needs

Leadership and Training to guide Summer Interns, staff, other team members, and participants

Ability to communicate effectively and speak publicly

Responsibilities: 

Key Responsibilities:

Program Management – Collaboration in planning and implementing Mission Indy programs

Technical & Maintenance Responsibilities – Assist in the management and care of equipment

Roving Project Manager – driving a truck and pulling a trailer to sites to give encouragement, assistance, and materials where needed

Leadership Development – Assist in designing and leading training programs

Community and Church Engagement – Building relationships with area churches and ministries for church hosting and project planning. Communicating with participating church group leaders about the program

Creative and Technical Media Management – Creating and maintaining audiovisual content, including music and video licensing. Developing convention displays, maintaining the Mission Indy website, E-News platform, social media, etc.

Interns – Involvement in the recruitment, application process, interviews, selection, and training program. Communicating with mentors

Assist with the procurement of host families and Intern summer placements

Build meaningful relationships with Summer Interns, providing encouragement, mentorship, and support

Contribute to the “behind-the-scenes” aspects of Mission Indy

Development – Support funding strategies through donor engagement and retention.
