I love American Quarter horses, and have had the privilege of owning several throughout my lifetime.
I've been a licensed auctioneer most of my adult life. My most memorable experience was assisting with the public auction of Calumet Farm in Lexington, KY, which sold for a final bid of 17 million dollars in the spring of 1992.
My brother and I rode our bikes to the gas station in our small town and stole chocolate popsicles. By the time we got home, our parents had called the chief of police, who was a friend of theirs, and he proceeded to tell us we were going to jail. Mom and dad said there was nothing they could do. Needless to say, lesson learned and I never stole again!
