Work Hours: The Secondary School English Teacher will work a flexible schedule that aligns with the school's needs. In addition to being present during school hours, they may be required to attend evening events, presentations, and community activities.
Role Description:
The Secondary School English Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and practical lessons that align with the school's curriculum and promote student growth. They foster a positive and inclusive learning environment and provide individual support to students.
Qualifications:
A passion for serving God through education.
Fully endorse the school's Statement of Faith.
5+ years of experience as a teacher or leader in an educational setting.
Preferred: Valid teaching certification/license (PGCSE or equivalent)
Strong subject matter expertise
Effective classroom management skills
Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning styles
Commitment to Christian education principles
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning and Delivery: Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and Biblical standards. Utilise a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Classroom Management: Establish a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and participation.
Student Support: Provide individualised support, address learning difficulties, and identify behavioural concerns.
Spiritual Formation: Foster an environment that encourages spiritual growth and understanding of the Christian faith. Organise and participate in devotional activities.
Role Modeling: Demonstrate professionalism, ethics, and integrity, upholding the school's values and serving as a positive role model.
Communication: Maintain open communication with parents about student progress and concerns.
Resource Management: Oversee and manage educational resources effectively.
Professional Development: Stay updated with current educational practices and participate in professional development opportunities.
